Training Services
CITE delivers NVQs and the new QCF qualifications.
CITE can offer employers NVQs and the new QCF qualifications in the following subjects:
·
Business Administration
·
Support Services for Healthcare
·
Information, Advice and Guidance
CITE’s accredited training programme is customised to your needs as an employer. We do not run a standard day release programme [unless that is what you want], but rather deliver only those ‘off the job’ training sessions that your staff need once their existing skills and knowledge have been assessed.
Much of our accredited training is government funded, which means that - where your staff are eligible - we can offer the courses at no cost to you. If you have in-house assessors, we may even be able to contribute to the cost of their time on the programme.

·
Moving and Handling [including hoist].
We provide places for individual staff on these courses or we can deliver a course to a full staff group on your premises if that suits you better.

Enhanced Services for Health and Social Care employees
CITE specialises in the Health and Social Care sectors and we are able to provide training and recruitment services that reflect the skills needs of these sectors in detail. We are used to adapting our standard job preparation courses to meet the specific needs of participating employers so that specific skills requirements are met.
For Health, CITE links directly with many different NHS Trusts to assist them to recruit to entry level vacancies. We are part of the Health Employment Partnership in central London and co-deliver the NHS Jobshop in Kentish Town with NHS Camden which aims to increase local recruitment of people with the right skills and attitude. CITE also delivers short courses that provide candidates with the skills and knowledge necessary for entry into the NHS.
For Social Care, CITE has developed a short course which prepares candidates for Social Care vacancies. These courses are designed to meet the needs of the sector - as defined by the ‘Skills for Care’ Common Induction Standards and also CSCI requirements.
All courses include the following:
·
The role of the Care Worker
·
Principles of Care [including risk assessment, confidentiality, person-centred care approach]
·
Moving and Handling [including working with a hoist]
·
Food Hygiene [leading to a recognised qualification]
·
Health and Safety in Social Care [leading to a recognised qualification]
We run these courses on a regular basis, providing a steady stream of potential Care employees with directly relevant skills.
Recruiting employers can link to these at no cost in order to recruit suitable new staff. We are also happy to customise the course to include specific skills requirements you have relating to your job person specification. These short pre-recruitment courses bring a real benefit to participating employers.
What employers say:
‘If we place an advert on the NHS jobs website we receive hundreds of applications and short-listing is very labour intensive. With CITE all the initial screening is already done, so saving a significant amount of time. All CITE applicants turn up to interview and are high caliber applicants who meet our basic job entry requirements.’
